Nativ was founded by Mario Ercolino, renowned winemaker for some of the top estates in Campania and Italy, and his wife Roberta Pirone. The word Nativ literally means “that which is original”.The concept is realized through the production of wines from the native grapes of the region which are grown on a 15 hectare estate-owned vineyard located in Irpinia, near Paternapoli and Taurasi. This area is famous for fertile soils of volcanic origin, rich in minerals, calcium and ash. These constituents are concentrated in the grapes, resulting in features of uniqueness and distinctiveness in the wines.
